This painting was born of a need in me for a blast of colour! I knew when I pasted the structure that it was going to be vibrant.
It is 3ft square and has a real strength to it, and yet with the almost 'smoke-like' wisps of white across it's centre and the way they curl... it just spoke to me of breath. The breathing in of something fresh, something new, a life force.
Strong colours speak to people... they impart a confidence, an exuberance, I want the viewer to feel alive when they see ‘Breath of Life’ which is how I felt when painting it.
